I'm not an apple fanboy, I do think that the things that they create are great and other things that pointless and idiotic.
I know they didn't create the tablet market, all they did was bring it to the consumer market and make things available at a cheap price. Nokia and archos were really the ones that trimph in the tablet market and then slowly faded away around 2009.
Apple didn't even create the mouse, steve jobs who was the ceo of apple, he went practically over the road to xerox and stole the idea for the mouse.
I'm not quite sure about this, did apple actually create the graphical user interface (GUI) or were they the first to bring it to the consumer market? Were apple the ones that brought users away from the command line interface?
I know that they were the first ones to bring changable fonts to an OS. Steve jobs regularrly said that if they didn't put it into their product then microsoft would have never brought it to market.
I love android products as they very customizable and you can do almost anything with it, but one of the problems that I have with android that I find myself tweaking every little aspect of the interface but I suppose that i'm trying to hit the sweet spot of android devices. I only love apple post-PC products when they are jailbroken. IOS might be very simple to use but there's virtually no customization.
Thanks for reading :)
Xerox got the mouse from someone else as well :-) and xerox got $1 million for letting jobs in their labs to look at cancelled projects for 1 hour. Xerox did okay ;-)
ReplyDeleteOne million? not bad. i wouldn't mind looking round failed/cancelled projects for a full year :)
DeleteI remembered something as well. apple also incorporated a different filing system into the mac os. i can't remember specifically of what it is but i know it was kind of a game changer for OSs
