I've said on my roundup of tech news on friday that i'll be talking about the iPhone 5 but i've recently upgraded to Jellybean on my samsung I9000 and it's my first user experience with Jellybean so i thought i'd make monday's blog about Jellybean because basically everybody knows what the iPhone is and if you read my blog, you're bound to check out people's reviews on Youtube or Tech websites, so why talk about something that everybody knows or just talk about my experience with jellybean first hand
I've just updated to Jellybean, and to be honest, i didn't really have to make a day of it. All i did was wipe the dalvik cache and wipe the partition, install the rom and that was it. Dalvik cache, i learnt of what it was from the android power user over on youtube.com/pocketnow
You should check him out, he explains everything in so much depth and yet keeping it very simple of keeping track of where he is.
There were a few hiccups when installing Jellybean. First there was backing it up so in case anything was messed up, i could still go back to that state in time. Installing the Rom was a bit confusing, first i thought i missed out a step. I clicked on installing the rom and it did it's normal procedure but then my Samsung i9000 rebooted and came up with a loading screen and it was like that for about 20 minutes until finally, i decided to take the battery out and try to install it again but i couldn't get it into Clockworkmod (CWM) so i kept trying and trying until i got into CWM and thank goodness that i got back into it or otherwise my phone would have been stuck in booting up mode or Powered off. i went through the normal steps of installing a new rom and it went successfully. So after that long procedure i've now got jelly bean on my Phone.
Google Now is fantastic and much more responsive and better looking than siri.
everything that i throw at google now has worked in a way that it feels futuristic. Offline voice typing might not be there yet but i've still got to download another zip file so i can gain access to offline voice typing. Google have really improved on the android OS. I honestly think that they were fine with ICS but with every major operating system, it needs to be updated annually. Jellybean is the best android operating system to date and probably Google will probably blow us away next year with kiwi lime pie or whatever the next android Code name is.
Here comes the main attraction - Project Butter. Project butter is so slickly smooth. It's super fast, Animations start straight away as soon as you touch the screen. Google have really done a number on the android OS in the past couple of years and they've been focusing more on user experience. ICS was just the building ground of what they could achieve with jellybean and they've really improved. Sorry if i'm repeating my words but jellybean is worth the excitement and hype unlike Hunger games like my movie reviews.
Thanks for reading my opinion on Jellybean, if you've got a device that can accept Jellybean, speaking on that every phone can accept Jellybean, the worlds first android phone the T-mobile G1 has got Jellybean so if a developer out there has ported Jellybean over to your device, i kindly recommend you get it immeditially.
