Roundup Of Tech News

I thought i'd start doing a round up of rumors, news and release of the week. This might not be happening every week, there's a lot of intersting news that happened this week.
i'll first start off with the news that i've just read about sega, Sega are closing all the major studios except from two, Sega of america and sega UK, this is because of fineical problems in the sega family and this is causes the rest of the studios to be shut down and try to renew the stradgey of sega franchises, obviously when you think of Sega you think of sonic the hedgehog.

remember my little rant about Blackberry 10, the new operating system coming from RIM well they've announced that BB10 will only be coming out in 2013. Now i'd like to say Rim needed BB10 to be a winner in the OS war, now with iOS 6, windows 8 mobile and now newly announced is Android Jellybean 4.1. I personally think that the end of rim now, no more blackberrys. Maybe the company will survive if it brings out it's BBM (blackberry messenger) to other platforms and if they do that, that will be the last outcry that RIM will do.

Since i've already covered Google IO in the previous blog i won't talk about it again. Two major players in the app field have finally hit iOS, the apps that i'm talking about is Google chrome and Google drive. Google chrome and safari use the same Webkit and the same protocols as safari so there's not a massiv leap in speed but you've certainly got more functionality with the Chrome web browser.

What nintendo announced is that they are bringing out a new 3DS but with a bigger screens. it's conviently got 3DS XL, keeping in the lines of the DSI XL. I can't remember the actual specs of the screen but what i know is that nintendo aren't upping the resolution of the screens so speaking realiscity the games won't look that good as they are only easy ports.

Have you ever wondered what the people at Valve use to make their short films, adverts and gameplay mechanics. well now you can own the software and make your own movies. You can just be playing a game from team fortess 2 or other Valve titles and as you're playing through the game, the program will record every little action, every footstep at every angle. you can change where the camera is to give it a more dynamic view and give that one game of team fortess more depth.

Analyst are saying that iTunes is ready for a major overhaul, the User experience will be change for a more user unified experience, music will be more easier to be catagorized, movie will have a little thumbnail and if you hover over that thumbnail you'll get a little sneak peak. Instead of the normal white themed iTunes, the default theme will most likely be piano black and try and keep up with their other iDevices.

The facebook app for iOS will be re-built from the ground-up. Let's be honest the facebook iOS app is sluggish, it's always clicking over everywhere and things can't be displayed on the iPad without going to it's HTML5 counterpart, that's where facebook want to correct it and rebuild the entire app with speed in mind.

Fanboyism

Look at any video on youtube featuring either an apple device or a android device. You've got a massive argument happening which is just horondous. i'll admit that i was a bit of an apple fanboy, i was recently new to the apple software and i was currently loving it, every aspect of the iDevice wasn't flawed at all, everything was refined, everything was polished for the end user experience and there was this one time, when i was having a full on roar with another guy in my class, who was saying android was better and now thinking back on it, he was only there to rustle my jimmies. When i was having the full on roar, android was still in it's developing stages and it was still on 1.5 cupcake and i didn't like cupcake at all, you're lookkng at it and it's so omplicated to get around and everything was in submenus, which if you're finding something specific you've got to go round the entire operating system. Apple got it right first time round with their iPhone 2G, sure there was a couple of things missing that is essential to have in smartphones these days but for the time, the iPhone was brilliant.

i got side tracked there, Arguments are good, it gets people to compremise but not when you're fans of an OS and you've got virtually no power of what gets said to the manufactuer of the OS. sure you can talk about it and debate what features should go into different OS and who copied who but the thing that you've got remember is that Competition is good. If nobody rivaled apple, i'd say that most of the features we see the iOS wouldn't be there today and i'm not saying that apple would have copied anything that android does but i'm saying that apple want to keep their advanced mobile operating system. The most advanced mobile operating sytem.

It's the same thing with the PC and the mac, You've got two dedicated desktop operating system that have rivaled each other for years and years. The only advantage that the PC has is price over the convience, because the PC is so cheap and there's tons and tons of manfacturer who create windows powered desktop, people tend to go over to the windows side because it's cheaper. For the people that aren't bothered about the money and are willing to pay an extra 700 pounds, they are guarnteed to at least get another 5 years out of a mac because it's a realiable operating system.

The mac operating system is builtfully designed, since the hardware and sotware are developed in harmony, apple can create a almost perfect user experience with no hitches or bugs. With windows, it's very hard to tell  on what operating system wil work on what hardware so windows have got to create a minimum specification version and then from that lowest spec they can justify what hardware can run that OS.

Google IO #2

Continued on from the last blog.

The biggest thing to ever hit smartphones by storm when it was introduced by Apple with the iPhone 4S, i'm talking of course about siri, the voice recognation assisstant. Siri helps users out completing tasks like setting alarms, finding out the latest scores of the football game, and many more features. Apple have really changed how people look at voice recognitiaton services and bringing them to the mainstream audience. Well Google have brought out their own Voice recognition service and others all the same features that siri features but more. Since Google do what google do, they track every little bit of information they have on you. Google have permission to read through your emails, search results, your Youtube videos, Google track everything that you do so they can give you relevent adverts based from what you're interested so they can really target an audience.

Google's Voice service isn't just a voice recognition, it can do so much more, There's a feature that they are calling Google Now. over weeks and weeks of retrieving information Google now will be an essitanal part of your life, it will track what time you need information, where you are located for example, for weeks you've been getting the train and you've been asking google on the train times for that location, it will be able to work out what time you need the information and it will automatically bring up the information without you asking the device.

With the new inteation for the android powered devices, you've got jellybean 4.1, The biggest complaints towards the android OS is the search functionailty and google have re-built from the ground up to give the ultimate unfied experience. if you want to search for barak obama's height or weight it will bring it up in a conveient card just like what siri presents.

Keyboard, Jellybean has dramically improved the keyboard, it now gives you predictive text, remember what the blackberry 10 OS gave us, giving you words before you've actually typed in yet. Gives you the power of the blackberry 10 but with many third party support from the playstore.

Widgets have been reimagned, have you even tried to place a widget on one of your homescreen but you couldn't because there wasn't enough space well you now can, with the power of jellybean you can now place a widget and it will automatically move widgets and app icons around the screen so that it can make space for the new widget.

Now i haven't watched Google IO but when it comes available to watch and i've watched it, i'll give my own personal review on it.

Google IO #1

Firstly i've not watched the Google IO conference but from the many blogs out there gave it amazing reviews, on how they presented it and information.

A lot of software were announced, Jellybean is now been revealed as Android 4.1. Loads of people thought the new version of android would be a major release being a 5.0 release but no google have decided to make it a point release as it doesn't feature any new features that would classify it as a major release.

Technobuffalo, a website that i visit reguarly for all my technology goodness did a survey the other day on how much of the technobuffalo visiters were on ICS. This was brought up to the media's attention by Apple's WWDC 2012, as apple showed off at their conference that a little over 4% of android users were on Ice cream sandwich.Surprisingly the moderaty of technobuffalo visiters were running the latest version of Android, 48.7% to be specific, coming in second is gingerbread with 35.99% user base. Shooting all the way back down to just 2.14% is honeycomb, For honeycomb mainly being a Tablet bases OS this is acceptable to have just over 2%.

Back onto Google IO
What you've seen of google glasses so far is amazing, a first demonstration video of what Google glasses could do with our lifes and how it would improve them is astonshing. The Google glasses project isn't just a pipedream that isn't some concept or prototype that will never bring to the market. It's available to pre-order today if you were at the Google IO conference and you're a citizen of the US. It will only cost $1,500 now, They still aren't available yet and you'll be able to pick up an actual pair in 2013. Google glasses will shape the way we look at technology and content.

For one of google's opening statements on the state of android is that so far in 2012, Google have sold just over 400 million Android devices to date and that there's one million activations each and every day that equals to 12 per second. Now you could be amazed by that number if it was new devices but it's not, the million everyday activation could either restoring devices, updating the device, Rooting the devices or even downgrading the device.

Nexus Q is basically Google's device to compete with the AppleTV, Nexus Q is just an access point connected to your TV and Stereo System and using your android powered device you can change the song, video file or show off your pictures on the Television. Multiple devices can be connected up to the Q so say if you're running a song that you like on the Q but you're wife doesn't, well she can easily change the song to a song that she likes on instead.

Retina Mac book pro display

by now you've probably now seen the amazing retina display on the Mac book pro line it's a whopping 2880x1800 but there's a thing that i discovered courtesy of soilderknowsbest. Apple have decided to do the exact same thing they do with their CPU, they've underclocked their displays aswell, because the capacity of the screen is that high the text looks even richer and vivid.
Now when I say they've under locked their display, you can change the default display to it's actual display resolution.  When you first boot up your new Mac book pro you'll notice that the resolution is  The underclocked display is 1400x900.  Pictures will be shown at the bottom.  If you download a small file, i'll put the link at the bottom, it's a link to a download that if you run the little file, it will turn your display into what apple advertise as the retina Mac book pro.

http://9to5mac.com/2012/06/21/how-to-run-your-retina-display-macbook-pro-at-full-2880-x-1800-native-resolution/

sorry that this blog is left till late and there's not a lot of information but what can you write about resolution that hasn't already been said.

Technology related adverts

One thing i'd like to say and it's been on my mind for about 6 months now, it's advertising. Advertising is the biggest factor for any company, how do you know that a new game is coming out if you keep it secret or you don't advertise it. So you've got to broadcast your content out there some way, it might be through facebook, it might be through commericals on the television or it even might be  a news story found a website. If you want someone to get their hands on your content, you've got to flog it. Chat shows are a brilliant and easy way of making sure that there's gonna be somebody who's interested.
Look at an advert by motorola promoting their droid razr maxx, It displays what specifications the phone has, how many cores it's got, how much ram it's got with a few visual aids to represent what these mean. Now for the average person this doesn't mean anything, all they hear is fancy words like the Intel i7 processor, there's no spec talk there but they still aren't going to know what it means. sure i'm watching, reading and listening to tech news roughly everyday and i know if a phone's good or not based on the specs (this doesn't apply to the likes of iOS or Windows powered devices) if they haven't got a good enough spec and it's running android... it's probably going to fail.
getting back to the adverts idea, there's only really one company that stands in it's advertising and that's obviously apple. apple can't be copied on the way they advertise their products. Simple User interface and monumental design all right in the core of apple. Surely you've all seen an apple advert by now, It shows off how easy it is to manage your phone, facetime somebody in a matter of seconds, how to manage your phone... The list goes on. The important thing to take away from this that apple have a simple design and they don't over complicate by bringing in specifications stats just like it's other company counterparts.
When the galaxy S3 was announced and the advert was revealed, The advert is one minute long and counting out the amount of seconds the galaxy S3 is actually displayed on the advert is only 13-20 seconds. The advert is trying to tell a story of what the phone can do for your life and not actually displaying how it can do that and how you interact for it to get to that stage.
You've got to advertise your product for you to gain some audience, for people to become interested in your product and then eventually you'll get people who will buy your product but you've always got a factor to take in is that you've got keep your advert simple and not over complicating is so you've got more of an audience on your side.

Operating systems

I was talking to my uncle at the weekend who's also a tech euthiast and he stumbled on a topic that I thought it was well observed. He said that when he's using the mac he has no insentive to go round and customizing it the way he likes' this is because most of the applications and the user interface features is all catered for the end user experience. Everything works the way it's advertised and everything optimized for the hardware.

PC... I'll talk about mac in a minute. Developing PC Games in the gaming industry have always been a hard one to capture on, every game developer aren't going to run their game on every CPU and GPU because it would cost too much to purchase all the machines and it would take too much of the developering time.

When developing games for the Mac is relatively easy to do because first you've got the amount of mac that run the software of Mac Os x in this case it's snow leopard because you'll access to the app store so you've ruled out macs older than 3 years old (i'm not quite sure how old apple stopped supporting mac). Every year for the macs they bring out the latest mac book pro and air, and they bring out 3 macs for each versions being i3, i5 or i7 so you've got easy programming so that it's optimized for those pieces of software.

There's one game for the Iphone that have really been catered to each and every iDevice out there and that's Landsplitter... If you're playing on a low end device like the Iphone 3G, and almost immeditaly after you'vw launched the game it goes into the optimizing mode and that elimanates advanced geometry and textures for a more fluent experience. Since the developers have taken the time to think of the lower end devices, they've become respected and started off a new phase of having apps on the iDevices.

See what windows does with their operating system, they give a standard of what hardware windows runs on. Each hardware manufactuer can't test every little but very different pieces of hardware. With windows and I believe this too, when you're using windows you've always got a tempation to pump it up and make it better and best suited to your personal needs.

Tablets in general

I'd like to talk about tablets in general and why we've got tablets. as steve jobs says 'people don't know what they want until it's shown what they want'. This quote is a perfect example why we've got the tablet market today, i'm not saying apple invented the tablet because microsoft come out with their tablet PC way back in 2002 but i'm saying is that they created a market where nobody in the audience anticipated.
It's just so much easier having a tablet, sure there's some tasks i need a laptop or desktop computer. see i'm  a 3D animator and the program i use is 3DS max, i regularly create 3D animations on my youtube channel under the same name 'Techguy276' since there's no 3DS max app for iPad or android i've got to stick with using my laptop for all my 3D animation needs. There are some experiences on a laptop like web browsing or even on facebook that are much better than it's tablet counterparts.
If it wasn't for a tablet most of the things that i have little need like looking up someone on IMDB or just casually looking on youtube to see if there's any new youtube videos out, i can power on the touchpad in under 20 seconds and get where i need to go. With the laptop,i've got to wait until it boots up and then i've got to wait for it to do all the background checks when it'd on the desktop and then get where i need to go if i remember what i was meant to do.
i do believe that the public don't k now what they want until it's presented to them. This brings me to my other idea. No matter how big the audience is there's always going to be someone buying your product, if you've invented something then you've invented to assist your life thorough whatever problem you had but you're not the only person who has that problem, there's always going to be someone else in the same scenaory  that has the same problem but doesn't know what to do to invent that object.
Here's a thing that gets me, Microsoft announced their tablet on 18th of June and everybody claims that they are copying from apple, i do believe they are copying a little bit but you've got tot remember that roughly every manufacturer out there have brought out their tablet and they've all been branded with copycat fever. Remember competition is good for the consumer, each manufacturer and each developer are competing against each othe to bring out the best design, best interface. Look at iOS and android, sure apple copy features from android and android copying ideas from iOS but by bringing both of these features to market, it's become much much better for the consumer. Just think for a second if android didn't come out, apple wouldn't need to compete with anyone becasue there would be no one else out there to rival against.
i'd like to touch a bit more on this subject in a later blog. Remember competition is good so if you see anyone arguing about iOS and Android being the better OS just call them stupid bcause them as a consumer are getting more features and more tweaks because the rivally between the company

The Fragmentation that is android

I'd like to point out the stats that were shown at the WWDC 2012. Over 80% of iUsers are upgraded to the latest version of iOS, 19% of iUsers are on the previous version and just a little one percent left from all the iOS users out there have iOS 3. I'm not sure if this includes every day use or phones that have been activated by that software and then left alone. I'm thinking the amount of users that are using iOS 4 can't upgrade to the latest version because their iDevices can't handle the new features or they think it's not worth the upgrade.

The last firmware update for iPhone 3G was 4.2.1 and that probably explains why there's that little 1% of iUsers still on iOS 4. I'm actually majorly surprised that apple decided to write iOS6 for the iPhone 3GS. It might not have the features, such as 3D maps and other features but since they haven't killed off the iPhone 3GS like they did with the iPhone 3G on 4.2.1 i've got to give respect for apple for giving a 3 year old phone another life to live. There's not many phones out there that are 3 years old still getting updates heck even android phones don't even support a year for updates.

I remember the galaxy S1 I9000 not recieveing an update to ice cream sandwich even though custom roms were built and they worked amazingly well. If you remember the galaxy S1 was critically acclaimed by almost everybody, everybody loved what samsung did and how they can make a flag ship android phone that hasn't different accessories or pherphicarls. The specifications of the galaxy S1 were the same if not better than the original galaxy nexus and the nexus was retrieving an update to ICS. Not sure why because there's a mass market for the S1 and there should have been no discussion about bringing ICS to the S1.

This brings me to the subject of the stats have how many people are on different versions of android, causing the developes to have a hard time developing for any platform because they don't know which operating system version is capable. Most developers are smart enough these days to only develop for gingerbread (2.3) and above.
Only 6% of android users have actually upgraded to the latest version of android, which is ice cream sandwich, if you have a look at the picture at the below it will show how fragmented the android operating system is.

The developers again have a very very hard time due to the different screen sizes and the different screen resolution. They don't know if it's going to be a 3.5 inch screen or a 4.8. With apple they've made it easy for developers to create an app since the all the iPhone/iPod screen is 3.5 inch screen. All the iPhones were the same screen resolution until they brought out the gorgeous retina display on the iPhone 4.

Microsoft Surface

The microsoft surface is the new tablet coming straight from the redmond company, they aren't partnering with any company, they've built from the groundup right within their headquarters. But will it be an iPad Killer?

You can go to roughly any tech site and have a look at the specs but i'm not here to talk about that but i'll still give a rundown of the specifications.

Intel Core i5, Ivy bridge, 3.4GHz Quad core.
Microsoft didn't say any specific Ram capacity but if i'm going to guess, i'll guess around 3gb/4gb of ram.
10.6-inch full HD display, Display resolution wasn't annouced either but probably around 200 pixels per ince (PPI)

The tablet will feature not a striped down version of windows 8 or a custom windows mobile OS. It will run the entire full flagship windows 8 OS that's set to release in the summer of 2012.
It will come in 2 Solid state drives sizes, 32gb and 64gb with 50gb free from Dropbox.

A lot of things weren't announced like the rear facing camera and the front facing camera. They are most likely going to be around the new iPad's camera specifications.

One thing that we know for certain that is the microsoft surface tablet will support Wi-Fi and that's all we know at this point in time, there's been no announcments on which carriers it will appear on and which Data speeds it will take on. Most likely it will feature 4G LTE/HSPA+ since if it's going to be a direct competitor to the iPad, microsoft will most likely add 4G connectivty.
Feature the standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Other ports will be amazingly surprised at this, The tablet will feature a USB 3.0 port and that supports 500mbps/s. HDMI port so you can connect it up to your HD monitor/TV.

With a little comparison to the iPad. The iPad is 9.4mm thick and 1.44 pounds where as the Surface is 13.5mm and weighs at 1.99 pounds. So as you can see it's not the biggest change if you ever want to switch from the usual iPad to a new tablet in town Surface.

With the USB ports being included as standard, microsoft are planning to make a unified experience between all platforms. It's basically a laptop with touchscreen interactivity. We all aware of the smartcover for the iPad and how it tryed to change the way we protect our devices. Peel away the smart cover and the iPad lifts itself out of standby and brings itself straight to the homescreen. Well Microsoft have recreated this for their own tablet but added something revolutionary and it could really catch on with other companies and their tablets. They've added a tactile keyboard that acts as a smartcover, it clips on to the bottom of the devices and using NFC (I think) if it's not NFC, it's going to be bluetooth but by automatically connecting the keyboard, you'll be immediatly be able to type with the keyboard.

Since you've got 2 USB 3.0 ports and a full version of Windows 8 at your disposal, you can rig the tablet up to be a full scale laptop with the HDMI port, hook it up to your TV and have a full entertainment unit.

I think this is the turning point for microsoft to actually get some revenue back from apple, what they stole with such amazing devices like the iPhone, iPod and obviously it's direct competitor the iPad.

Webos Enyo

If you've been following the webos news, if you've not got a webos device you're probably not going to keep up with the news as it never comes to the mainstream technology news. i keep up with Webosnation.com roughly everyday, it may not get updated like the other sites like Technobuffalo or T3 but it just shows that the love for webos is still alive and people aren't ditching a great operating system.
That's where i'd like to talk about, even though Webos got killed over 9 months ago, there are people that are still using the touchpad on webos because the love for the operating system is amazing and even though it's not got that many apps in the apps. The love for the operating system is still alive with Enyo.
Enyo is the project name for Open source webos. all throughout the year they've been bringing updates on how it's doing. They've been bringing out little tweaks as well from Preware is which a Cydia style app store for Webos. Several websites that have partenered with some of the developers of Enyo have brought out forums to bring suggestions to what they want to see on webos in september when it arrives onto our webos devices.
One of and many many more amazing features on Enyo is the developers have chosen something that will really help the operating system out and it's one of the things that really killed of webos in the first place and that's apps. Webos Enyo 1.0 will feature a new coding system that will support Android Apps, iOS apps. Apk's and Ipks will all be able to run on Webos devices. Enyo will even feature HTML5 support so youtube videos will run smoothly with no risk of quick battery life with flash being enabled.
I can't stretch this enough, When Enyo comes out there's going to be a lot of companies who will take one look at webos and they'll want them to incorperate it into their phones after all webos has been open sourced to any company can come along and pick up Webos free of charge.
I think we've forgot what an operating system is like. Ever since the arrival of the app store on iOS, i think we've forgot what a device should be like. Just think for one moment, An Iphone without apps, would it really be that good. Sure before the arrival of the app store, we had phones like the Sony ericsson K800i and other phones that ran JavaOs as it's basis operating system.

Thanks for reading and i'll probably be updating the blog later when i've gathered enough information about the microsoft event.

Nintendo and Online gaming

Here's a thing that nintendo really need to sort out majorly, it's online gaming, i don't know if it's a decision by nintendo to not have online gaming because they think it's not worth it or they just don't know how to use online gaming to it's potenial.
like it or not online gaming is here to stay no matter what, you'll always get a game like call of duty that basically is an online game, some of the people that i know don't even look at the story all they do all day long is play cod. sure i used to do that but that was when it was call of duty 4, still one of the best cods to this date. i'm getting off topic, there will always be online gaming around for many years to come.
If some of you never owned a Wii or have had one but never really used it as a gaming console but as a fitness console... something on those lines well you've probably not seen how bad the Wii's Friends application is. You just don't create a username for your nintendo account so you can show off to your online friends what your username is. The nintendo Wii has a idiotic way of creating your own nintendo friend code. I'm not quite sure of how many digits there are in a friends code but i'm pretty sure it's more than 8, if your friends have a wii and you want to add them to your friends list you've got to remember the 8 or more digit code, just so you can add them to your friends list.
I'm bringing up this subject because i watched the nintendo conference the other day and i wasn't really impressed at all of what nintendo had to offer at E3. first of all i've never heard of the pikmin franchise like i've never actully heard it but when it came onto the screen with it's lemmings 3D style of gameplay, it struck me that it would be amazing for online gaming and it would be great for your friends and family. Well it turns out that nintendo have decided not to include online gameplay because they said it wouldn't be fun enough because you'd get frustration across the internet. So nintendo have decided instead that they are going to add local 4 player co-op. Why nintendo why! if you're going to include 4 player co-op and state that the 4 player co-op is going to be fun why not have online as well so that the friends don't have to come over to the house to play the game, they can stay in their own homes and play it with you.
Sorry it's been a slow day of the technology world. One of the things that happening in the technlogy world and the gaming world in a few hours is the microsoft tablet event. It's happening at 3:45PM PDT. Check out technobuffalo.com for news, reviews and videos.

Underclocking and overclocking

First thing i've got to say about overclocking a CPU is an effective way of increasing your speed of your device, that can vary from a desktop computer to your laptop and even your smartphone/tablet.

Whenever you buy a laptop, one of the first things you do is check the CPU and it's speed. The normal CPU clock speed in modern laptop is about 2.4ghz and depending on how many cores you have available is a way of detemining on how fast your computer will be.

If your computer running on a 2.4ghz dual core processor, you've got 4.8ghz at your disposal. as we've seen with the Tegra 3 chip set, you've got a quad-core chip with an extra core. 4 cores are running at 1.4ghz and then you've got the companion core running at 1.2ghz. The companion core runs all the background processes and the small powered apps. Having a companion core dramatic ally saves an incredible amount of battery life because it's not powering up all the other cores just to run the device.

Some of you might know that the clock speed of the iPhone is running at a lower clock speed than it's capable of. The iPhone 3GS has a 800mhz processor but apple have designed it and altered the CPU to run at a lower clock speed so that it saves on battery life. So apps could be opening and running faster to the speed of the chip that it has inside it. This happens for all the other iPhones, they all get the same treatment of being underclocked.

This is where it's different in android phones, Android phones aren't underclocked and they aren't overclocked either, they are the speed of the chip that it's inside it.

You can always get third party apps that assist you in altering the clock speed of the CPU to a clock speed that's more suited to you. you can get third party apps on roughly every platform, including webos... which we all know is a dead platform and even that got a clockspeed program called Govnah.

There's a few advantages and disadvantages to changing your clockspeed. First of all the one advantage is a faster device, it might not be the greatest difference but you'll definilty see the difference but there's a major disadvantage and that's battery life. say if you've got a desktop computer, the battery life doesn't matter because you've got no battery life but if you're talking about a portable device like a laptop or a smartphone, the battery life will dramatically go down. And that's not the only disadvantage there's also a risk of overheating and melting the motherboard.

Underclocking your CPU on the device will do the opposite effect, there's a slight slow down of the device but you'll see a big difference in battery life and this is why Apple decides to underclock their devices.

I've got many things more to talk about Underclocking and overclocking but i'll do that in another blog.

Sega business

remember the time way back in 1995 when SEGA pulled out of the console manufactering business because they just couldn't compete with other companies bringing out their own consoles like Nintendo bringing out the Nintendo 64 and sony bringing out their debut console the playstation 1. Due to the failing streak that sega had, one of the biggest failures that came across sega's history was the sega saturn, Games that were coming out for it and that were optimized for the different processors were amazing and really well produced but as a console it was a failire, new developers were stumped on how to create a game for this platform. The over priceness of the saturn and the hard to develop games for, it became obvious that sega din't have long left in the business. So for one last attempt at the gaming consoles market they brought out the dreamcast. the dreamcast used  the A9 chip which enables devices such as our smartphones and tablets to have access to the internet. This is the exact same chip that was built into the dreamcast is in our phones today, so you could say that we've got a little bit of a dreamcast in our smartphones.

The reason i'm talking about sega is that Sega might be pulling out of the console business and i'm not talking about what they did 17 years ago, i'm talking about developing for consoles is over and they are now concentrated on developing for tablets and smartphones. If you've not seen in the past few years and the new edition to the sonic 4 episodic franchise that they've brought out Sonic 4 episodes 2 first beven before the consoles. This is a very brave move to be taken by SEGA, and if sega do decide to go through with it, i hope things pan out for them and if they don't, somebody else can take sonic and make my most wanted request and that's make another 16 bit sonic game. think about it, how amazing would it be to see another 16 bit sonic game. I still listen to the music from the genesis to this day.

This isn't news, SEGA hasn't  actually left the console busness yet, this is just based on rumors that i saw during E3.

Raspberry pi

it's very hard to summarize the raspberry pi into one word, maybe i can do it in two. Brilliantly small! that's right i'm calling brilliantly small, if you've ever seen the raspberry pi well it's a small spec computer than only 5 years ago would have been considered as monumentle. It's literally the size of a credit card, with all the components that you'd be expected to find in a computer.
It's being powered by a 700mhz single core processor with 256mb of ram and with a small helping from the GPU. The GPU is capable of outputting up to 1080p, no upscalling done on the software, it's all native 1080p support. as well of running 1080p footage, you can also display 2D and 3D animations, objects. with all this power you're thinking that running at 1080p, there's got to be some lag when it comes to the frame rate well no, raspberry pi foundation have guarneteed, it's got a solid 30 frames per second throughout the entire operating system.
Model A and Model B are exactly a like except model B has some features that make it to die for. Model B has 2 USB 2.0 ports and an Ethernet Port where as model A has only 1 USB 2.0 port and no Ethernet port. Model B being being more optimized for the end user as they could easily plug a keyboard and mouse into the USB ports and you're off.
So what's going to be powering the device well that you would be off your standard phone charger micro USB. with all the standardizing that the raspberry pi foundation has done with this device, you're able to get the most standard audio jack ever the 3.5mm headphone jack.
I've mentioned the key components like the display port, the USB ports and the Ethernet port, I've missed out the hard drive well raspberry pi has no hard drive, it runs off a SD card and on that SD card is the operating system and the operating system is Linux. Linux OS is going to be the main operating system that's going to be running from straight from the SD card.

I know several people that are just buying a raspberry pi on the basis of building a arcade machine from scratch and just basically running an emulator on it and having custom controls.  With me i have other ideas, one of my ideas is to turn it into an iPod dock with HUD display that you can interact in your car and have it as an in car speaker speaker. i'd like to make a casing for the device and build a custom iPod dock around it with it easily being placed into car so maybe i could bring it to market. that's just one of my ideas that i want to do with it but since the iPhone dock is basic, i just want to tinker around with the electronics and get some experience in that field.

Samsung galaxy S3

the first time today i got my hands on the galaxy S3 and i've got to say i'm pretty impressed of what samsung have actually produced. packing a whopping one gigabyte of ram and featuring a quad-core snap dragon process.

it might be a little feature but it was a little feature that liked and that was the volume toggle display, instead of showing the volume display horizontally, it shows it vertically, which some how struck me as being neat.

the screen feels so smooth and i keep really really smooth, it actually feels like water. On other phones there's normally a little lip that you always hit when rubbing the screen but not on the galaxy S3.

when i was testing out with the settings and changing them with the instore phone, it came true to me that smart stay wasn't working properly now i'm not sure if it could detect my face or it didn't actually work on the demo phone. i played with all the settings, disabled and enabled the smart stay function.

lookng through the different settings and from the battery menu, that most of the battery was being used just on powering the screen.

when i picked up the phone the alarm went off and the woman came up and disabled the alarm so i could virtually walk away with it. i picked up the phone again and it felt really really good in the hands, and felt a pleaure to use.

one of the new editions, not just to ice cream sandwich but with the galaxy touchwiz launcher, you've got notification toggles, i am aware that other phones have this too, not just samsung phones but the ones of the galaxy S3 just seem more user friendly and more appealing to the eye.

i didn't like the wrap around function on the applications, you can kep swiping to the right forever and the apps list wouldn't never end because they'd keep recycling the same apps over and over.

When i was in the store playing with the different S function, i came across S voice and i whispered, talked normally and rasied my voice and S voice could'nt detect my voice at all.

multi-tasking was very nice, press and hold the home button and it will activate the multi-tasking and different from other versions, on the galaxy S3 you have a task manager button and remove all button and that will remove all the apps running in the background.

Thanks for reading, i have more opinions on the galaxy S3 but i'll just keep it as a summary.

iOS 6

Here's the new additions of what we are expecting from iOS 6.
Here's the surprising part about iOS 6, it's coming to the 3GS, a device that is way past it's update cycle. Good one for apple to consider the people that are still using the 3GS. One of the things that i was reading a couple of months ago is when apple annouced that they were bringing down the price of the 3GS to $99 and this gave tremedous amount of interest in the 3GS and this is probably why apple decided to give the late comers of the apple family a little bit of a gift. After having the Iphone 3G for a couple of released, when apple decided not to support the iphone 3G past 4.2.1, it came apprant to me that apple weren't interested in the iphone 3G users and didn't care how the iphone 3G left.
Siri is being included on all devices that support iOS 6, there's major changes with siri in iOS6, you've got the power to tweet via siri, you can launch apps via siri, you can even update your facebook status via siri... And yes there is new facebook intergration with iOS 6, now you can easily update your facebook status where ever you are.
with just a little button on the nitification centre, you can now tweet, blog, and update your status via the notification centre. it's not just updating your facebook notification, facebook intergrates itself into your contacts list, so now you can easily find your facebook friends number, all the pictures will be updated to their current facebook profile picture next to their names.
it's about time apple have implemented after it being out for over 2 years, what i'm talking of is facetime over 3G, we've all been aware that we can face time unless we are in our homes or have a wifi hotstop near us. heck even a clever jailbreaker came out with this tweak, just a few weeks after WWDC 2010.
A new feature that will be hitting the macs and iOS 6 is the DoNotDisturb toggle, this allows you to turn off messages, phone calls and notification in all easily convient toggle. your messages and phonecalls will still be sent through but it won't light up or buzz. once you hit the sleep button, the messages will be revealed to you.
over the past few years, apple have been slowly drifting away from google sevices and now they've cut out one google service, google maps. they've redone the entire maps services. It's a turn by turn navigation service coming right into the stocks maps application. 2D 3D satilite and flyover are the different ways you can view the world. 3D is going to be amazing, if you've seen a few months ago, apple bought a 3D mapping company and we've now seen the work that these 3 companies have produced.
smart app banners, say if you're viewing a website such as IMDB, well if you're on the website, instead of it redirecting you to a website instructing you that they've got an app, it will be a easily notisable banner notification, notifying you that the website that you're visiting has an app.
what's been missing for years from the mails app? the abilty to send attachments on the iphone well now you can send videos, pictures and documents via the stock mail app.
There's also a passbook application that i don't really get, i'm not sure what it is. it seems to be a way of retrieving vouchers and a way to use your phone as an access point to use them vouchers.
There was rumors circulating that apple were going to revamp the stock iOS apps, well they have done and they've done it with great style.

Introduction to WWDC 2012

as we've all eagerly awaited for the new edition to the worlds Most advanced mobile operating system. that's right it's WWDC time!! some of you might not be interested in the new mac book pro lines.
I'm not calling IOS6 the most advanced mobile operating system, it's just what apple are calling it. which is a bit of an over statement. if you consider all the features the other operating systems offers, you wouldn't say that IOS is the most advanced but add that to the factor that IOS is the most elegant and easily usable mobile operating system.
A few stats that apple wanted to brag about for the opening lines of WWDC 2012.
400 million accounts have been signed up with iTunes and that's just on IOS devices.
Overall these 400 million accounts have access to 650,000 apps available on the app store and you've got 225,000 apps that are specifically made for the iPad. all these accounts and all these apps that are available, all together 30 million appls have been downloaded to our iDevices.
I'll just cover the basics of the mac book lines, There's a new mac book air coming out soon for $999 featuring a 2ghz dual core i7 processor, boasting over 8gb of ram, 512gb flash storage and with the power of USB 3.0, you're able to transfer data upto 500 megabytes per second. One of the things that might be disappointing to the new mac book air line that it doesn't feature retina display, it still keep the same pixels per inch as last year's model. 1366x768 for the 11inch display. for the front facing camera you've got a HD 720p capable facetime camera.
For the 13inch display 1440x900 will cost you an extra hundred dollars over the 11inch counterpart.
now i bet you're all wondering why wouldn't apple produce a new macbook pro without a retina display, well they certainly have. The new Macbook pro is going to support a 15inch display with a Massive ppi of 220, that's going to be very very crisp and even text will be the most detailed text you've ever seen. 2880x1800 is the resolution on this whopping monitor. now i know what you're thinking what specification will be powering this incredible display well it's going to be a 2.3 ghz quad core processor, 8gb of ram, configuable upto 16gb. so what's going to be the Space that you've got to contain all of the information, 256gb SSD solid state drive and this actually can't be removed or replaced so you're stuck with it unles you upgrade it to a high capacity. with all this memory at your fingertips you'll probably need a high transfer rate so you're not waiting around for items to be travelled across from one machine to another well you've got 2 thunderbolts ports which is way way higher than USB 3.0, thunderbolt supports upto 1gb per second transfer data and USB 3.0 only supports upto 500mb per second.
only 40% of users actually use lion which is quite surprising because the people that i know that are upgraded to it's newest version. i'm not going to talk about the new editions of mountain lion because yo probably already know about them. for the developer preview and when the actual New mac OSx comes out it will cost you 19.99.
One magnificent stat was given by tim cook and he said that over 1.5 trillion push notifications have been sent to our iDevices. granted that most of these notifications are sent from facebook and twitter but still that's amazing.

Sony's E3 press conference #3

Continuing from last blog -

We all remember the God of war ascension announcement trailer, As you watched the annoucement trailer you got the sense that it was going to be a Prequel to God of war Chains of olmypus for the Playstation portable. The order of which the games go is
God of war: Chains of Olmypus - PSP
God of war 1 -PS2
God of war: Ghost of sparta -PSP
God of war 2 - PS2
God of war 3 - PS3
The story line in chains of omlypus was before kratos got his anger and hatred towards the God of war (Ares) The story was how ares planned to exploit Kratos for what he was to his family and As kratos found out that ares was manipuative and ares only wanted kratos for certain reasons that i can't say otherwise it would include spoilers. Well God of war ascension is going to be a prequel to God of war chains of olmypus and i didn't quite understand how the game would play because after all kratos wasn't always full of rage and he never had any vengence towards any of the gods, so i wouldn't really know how the game would play out as there would be no rage involved. What i've seen today from the E3 trailer is entirally different of what i saw in my head. It looks like santa monica studio haven't changed anything at all and kept to the same formula that works. There were some new elements that i've never seen in the God of war franchise and This is prince of persia style reversing time gaming mechanic, It's sort of like the medusa head where you shine the torch or whatever you use to reverse time at an object and it will reverse it's destruction but while keeping the rest of the world in full motion. you can climb ladders and frames whilst it's in mid time.

Remember what naughty dog have brought to the market, like crash bandicoot, Jak and daxter and you can't forget the Massive and well recieved Naughty dog franchise and these franchises have been massivley loved from the critics and the public. Well naughty dog have done it again with their new IP called the last of us.
This portrays a father and daughter trying to survive in a post acoptic city landspace that's been over ran by gangs and it's up to the father and daughter to survive the city and get the place that they needed to go.
One of the things that i really didn't like about the trailer that they were looking round too much at the graphics and not concentrating on getting to the action where it mattered. I'm not saying it looked very nice. i'm saying it looks visually stunning, all the textures and all the polygons are presented in a realistic manner and a few moments that you could actually consider as real life graphics and that's not an exxageration, i was watching the conference in 480p and it still looked amazing.

Thanks for reading my take on sony's E3 press conference 2012

Sony's E3 press conference #2

Continuing on from the last blog.

Playstation all stars battle royale is a super smash brothers brawl style beat em up on the Sony's playstation platform, featuring the characters from the playstation exclusive lineup and creating an arean for them to battle it out to the death until there's only one that remains. It features 4 player Co-op and you can play as the major and minor playstation stars and here comes the best bit about the playstation all stars battle royale, if you own a playstation vita, you can use that for one the move action and play with your friends, one friend could be at home and the other friend could be on a train using the 3G networks and you could all play together for a big battle royale epic.

Assassins creed liberation is the brand new annouced portable adventure hitting the PSvita and it features the same setting and the same co existing storyline as assassins creed 3, if you own assassins creed liberation and assassins creed 3, you get exclusive content for both platforms, Now i can't actually remember what you get for both platforms but i remember them not being that great, one of them was extra ammo pouches like it's not really worth purchasing both titles for extra ammo pouches.

Farcry 3 is another open world adventure, Farcry 2 featured a big massive open world unlike what we've seen in any other game, it featured 50km square miles of desert, towns, vasts forests. well This features a all new open world with a big ambition for you to explor every little detail that can be found inside the epic world. The game will feature an entire different 4 Co-op campaign where you and your friends can come together and beat down the army that's taken what rightfully yours.

Wonderbook is a brand new innovation from the playstation family using Augmented reality as it's bases to present entertain to you. It's a brand new way of reading books and you don't just read books, you interact with them using the playstation move controller and flipping the pages. One of the biggest and the first book to hit this new style of reading books is non other that the book of spells, specifically writen by JK rowling (the author of the harry potter franchise) for wonderbook.

HTC the big Phone manfacturer, they've created the greatly appluaded phone, HTC One X which boasts the Tegra 3 chip set and which we all know is five cores to enable a full on end experience for the user. well the reason i'm talking about HTC is because sony have become partners with HTC to Enable HTC to offer playstation suite games, Offering games from the playstation one era, playstation minis. HTC is the first None sony based device manufacturer to have playstation certified games. One more thing to point out sony decided to rename Playstation suite to playstation mobile.

Sony's E3 press conference #1

I've finally watched sony's E3 press conference 2012 and i've left feeling proud to be a gamer, the line-up of games the way they presented and how they presented them was amazing. whoever you may be, be proud that you're part of an organisation called gaming.

As with sony and the playstation platform they've got tons and tons of money at their disposable and you can really tell, they've really gone out this year. Sony have always had a big massive open stage with massive amounts of space to move around for the CEO Jack Tretton and the other major assets to developers.

First thing that you could tell with playstation that they wanted ephaisis on the past of gaming and remembering where they started and how they wanted to innovate the future of gaming as we know it, Sony started off the press conference with a video reel showing the different stages of sony's timeline in cronological order, showing off their biggest innovations like eyetoy. This really set the scene for the rest of the conference and it was always on my mind that they were concentrating on the future.

Remember the Kevin Butler speech from the 2010 E3 press conference, as soon as he walked on the stage he got a massive applause and i'm not just talking when he entered the stage, i'm talking about when he exited the stage, he got a huge massive uproar and he literally lifted the entire stage off their feet. After kevin butlers speech, it actually gave me goosebumps on my skin and from then on, i've always been proud to be a gamer and i think Sony were trying to portray that message again in this years E3 press conference.

We all know the Sony exclusive Heavy Rain the Dramatic story featuring different storys from 4 different characters all being linked together told in a traditional story with the addition of quick time events, you have the ability to change the story to the way that you like it. well Quantic dream's new PS3 epic called Beyond Two souls:

Beyond Two souls is a dramatic and thrilling story following a life of a young girl who's been followed by a ghost or a ghost like entity and it's mainly the young woman's subconsious. we are all aware of what happens in life but when it comes to the afterlife we are clueless of what it like. The young woman is being played by Ellen Page who comes from films like Juno and her amazing role in Inception. From what was gathered from the talks after the gameplay footage was shown, it seems like it's not going to be a linear storyline and you can choose who the story pans out.

The trackball on HTC devices

I was looking the other day at some HTC devices and they all feature the pointless button and it's got to be more pointless than the silent mode button on the iphone and other features.

the silent mode button on the iphone became the most pointless feature to hit the iphone, the silent switch was easily knockable. I'd prefer if the iphone had no silent mode switch and change it to a software silent mode, just like on the JavaOs powered sony ericsson smartphones, you could be literally anywhere on the device and you'd hold down the # button and it would toggle silent mode for you. No awkward buttons on the side taking up real estate on the phone's body.

I have noticed a Degeneration of the track ball on HTC devices, Devices like the wildfire and the desire have featured the trackball button, what i've seen and played around the only 2 purposes are it's a camera shutter button and then the other version is going through your home screen swiping left to right just so that you can scan through the home screen wthout touching the touchscreen.

I do believe that you need a camera shutter button, i find it really awkward pressing the on screen shutter button because i either change the focus on the picture or a move the camera slightly losing the shot that i wanted.

I still need to do E3 news but if you go on youtube reguarly and you're subscribed to IGN's youtube, you'll find that there's too many videos to watch, way more than last year so i'll watch the major company's press conferences and i'll give an entire roundup for what they are and my opinion's on them.

Mountain lion notification centre

Now i think we're all farmilar with notification centre with iOS, you swipe down from the top and it reveals the notification centre, one thing that i've got to say about notification centre that even if you're in a full screen app and you swipe down from the top, it reveals a little tag that you can pull down on so that it reveals notification centre.

Mountain lion, well some of you might not have seen this, it's a notification centre from iOS built right into the base of Mac OSx. Using the Mac's trackpad and swiping left you display the notification centre, fading the entire background to the left, making the transition seem fluent.

This differs from the iOS notification centre, you pull down from the top and it displays the notification and the Mac Osx notification where you pull to the left using the trackpad, i'm sure there's several different ways to activate the notification centre but we'll stick to the main one for now.

well ever since mountain lion developer preview came out and the way that you activate it, i've always wondered why apple have taken different routes to activate notification centre. There's a new jailbreak tweak that's been released on cydia, conventialy named MountainLionCenter This basically features Mac Osx style notification centre on to the ipad including the gestures, the way it transitions and reveals itself on the device.

Thinking of it now, i've only actually seen this tweak on the iPad and in my head it wouldn't really work well with the iphone, with the iphone's small screen you wouldn't be able to utilse every gesture properly without running into any mistakes. Considering these points Apple wouldn't really want to make the user experience flat and they would want the same gestures that i found on the ipad, on every other iDevice so that a user of all 3 iDevices don't have to change the gesture depending on each device

Dashboard X

Dashboard X
One thing that has been missing on iOS for years Heck even android have had these for ages, the thing that i'm talking about is widgets. iOS has been catching up to android on it's features for years and they still haven't caught up to the likes of android, there's just something about apple creating the same features that android has and revamping and personalising them for a much more unified experience.

Dashboard X brings notification widgets that can be installed from apps like facebook and twitter to your springboard, even widgets are are installed through cydia like SBsettings which is basically toggles so you can easily turn on and off data or wifi and other toggles.

Sbsettings: just like springtomize, Sbsettings has been on every version of my iphone without fail, it's quick toggles. This tweak has been out for years ever since the first iphone came out and it was able to get third party support from jailbreaking and it's surprising that apple haven't decided to put a quick toggle widget or something on the spotlight search page where you could easily view and switch toggles. whenever i've updated my iphone accidently, i've always been frustrated that i can't toggle stuff quickly and i've had to go into the settings go through all the different menu just so i can turn 3G off and on.

I'm expecting something like this in iOS 6 and either you'll be able to manover the widgets around or they'll be a prefixed page.

one of the concepts that i've just thought of could be a really good reality for the iphone. you're on a homescreen like normal and you swipe down from any page of your homescreen and you'll be able to get widgets on it's on prefixed page. it would be good to see this is cydia in the upcoming weeks.

There's too much information from E3 2012 and i've took notice of the sony and nintendo press conferences but when i get around to watch them i will blog about them

Wii U multitouch support

this will only be a short blog as i only want to talk about one thing and that's the Wii U controller not supporting multitouch. i'll understand if this was 5 years ago before the introduction to multitouch displays and the pinch to zoom feature was a killer feature for any device and now it's become such a common thing to have on a multitouch screen and it astounds me that nintendo have chosen to take the multitouch capabilites out of the wii U to save money.

I'm gonna say that they aren't saving much money as they could easily intergrate into the controller and a few extra hours work behind a computer screen typing lines of code.

think of the killer features that first and third party developers could use the functionailty of the multitouch displays. just think how easy it could be browsing the internet with the full capable multitouch gestures, you don't have to go into any submenus just so you can zoom in. looking at the nokia N900 that doesn't have multitouch display, if you have a looked at the way you zoomed in a web page, it was quite shocking, the way you zoomed in and out is tap the screen and then rub your finger in a circular clockwise to zoom in and anti clock wise to zoom out.

as i said it's only a short blog and i just wanted to get my opinion out there.

Microsoft E3 press conference

This blog is going to be based around the E3 trailers and the previous encounters i've had with the game and it's footage.

Southpark: now this is the first trailer that i've seen of the MMO coming out for south park, it was revealed somewhere from 12 months ago to 6 months ago, i'm not quite sure. The trailer is rather confusing on what the actually game will be. from a few elements of the trailer, it looks like it's going ot be turn by turn battles (rpg style gameplay) and then there's elements that there's going to be big massive boss fights and one big massive battle fields where all the players take place and battle it out still the death.

splinter cell blacklight: now before i actually talk about blacklight, i'd like to point out that this was the last one that ubisoft were doing for the splintercell franchise, that's what i've on multiple occassions and yet they are making another one. i'm not doubting it after all splintercell conviction sold brilliantly and it had great gameplay, great story and above all a great lighting system and the way that when you went into the shadows the screen would turn black and white indicating you that you were hidden. splinter cell blacklight featuring the same chartacters and more open world space to move around and vast distances to travel. everything from the first gameplay trailer features a desert town with a big open canyon that really sets the scene.

tomb raider: i'm actually really really saddened by the delay of this game, i was really looking forward to it, and the same goes for bioshock infinite. they've both delayed there games for february 2013. Tomb Raiders last year E3's coverage was amazing and dramatic. it was a brilliant idea to reboot the franchise after the so what mediaocre rating tomb raider underworld got. The new trailer features everything that you'd expect from a shooter, adventure game. my first opinions of this trailer was it looked like uncharted but... way WAY better graphics animations move more fleuntly. i've got to say i thought that uncharted couldn't be beaten in the graphics department but it looks like crystal dyanmics have really pulled it off.

i'm not really a big fan of halo, i appreciaite what it's done to the first person shooter genre like adding regenerative health instead of health packs lying around and the lock on feature that it's most of the first person shooter these days. i don't have any knowledge or any interest in halo 4 different things: there was a few different things that i thought that microsoft only put there to fill in the blanks or making the crowd die down and then bring out something amazing to give more enjoyment to the audience. microsoft showed off internet explorer for the xbox 360, like that doesn't need to be there at all, internet explorer should have been on the xbox 360 in the first place instead of waiting till the end of the xbox 360 lifetime. one of the things that they covered for about 4 minutes was the new voice searching in kinect and how it can be intergrated with bing. THIS should needed to be done. even apple doesn't show off everything that they have to offer in the new operating system, they show off their best bits.
Smartglass: now i didn't get the full jist of what this technology was but i got the sense that it was displaying items from your xbox 360 onto your tablet, i'm not sure if you can do this vis versa. it looks really really good. it's available on windows, android and iOS.

Gears of war judgement: now i watched this trailer with no sound so what i got from the trailer was, that it looked like a prequel to the franchise since the main character in the game (can't remember his name) has no wrinkles and isn't has large as he is in the other games.

I'll tell you the truth, i haven't actually seen the microsoft conferences. it's been based around trailers coming from microsoft's conference.

iOS launchers

The previous blog was about the android launchers well today i'm going to talk about the launchers on the opposite operating system and that is iOS. now what you're thinking is that there is no launchers for your iphone. with the power of jailbreaking thw power of your iphone can be quite unlimited.
i've been a jailbreaker ever since i heard the form jailbreaking and i saw the iphone as, if i've bought it and i own it why not customize it the way that i want it. the amount of times i've broke my iphone from downloading software that push the limits of my iphone is far too many. one time i actually broke it by altering the base code for the operating system and that'd really not good with the phone but i'll get to that.

Once you've jailbroken, you've got the customization just like android, you can edit everything that you like and customize it the way that you want it. With me, i didn't care for most of the features like spotlight search, think how often do you use spotlight search to actually find your stuff, well i was one of those people that never ever used it so using the power of an awesome jailbreak tweak/app called springtomize 2, i disabled spotlight search and one thing that came to be a bit of surprise when disabling spotlight search was transferring data via itunes because tremoudsly fast.

Springtomize is a jailbreak tweak/app that has been around for about a year and it's a well known jailbreak tweak and i've highly recommeneded this to everybody that has a jailbroken Idevice. i've recommended loads of people to jailbreak their idevices and they don't see jailbreaking the way i do. they use it to get pirated apps, where i see it as unlocking the potenial out of the phone and making it do stuff that it wasn't designed for.

springtomize is a very very powerful jailbreak tweak and coming with springtomize 2.0, everything that you think you can alter to the way that you like it can be changed. how the way the lockscreen locks, animation speeds, disabling and enabling features that you hate having on your iPhone or what your iPhone doesn't get.

I haven't been blogging much since lately when i've been walking home from college, i've been getting lifts home and i've not really had time to blog so i've left them and plus the amount of  work at college has increased and i want to concentrate on them. It might turn out that i'm doing 3 blogs a week instead of 5, if i'm honest here, there's nothing been going on in the technology industry so there's virtually been nothing to blog about.
